Towing the vehicle
The towing eye is loca ted a t the front of the
vehicle on the right beh ind a f la p in the
bumper vent.
Dise ngage f lap at top and f old down.
Attach a tow rope 3or better still a tow
ro d 3 to the eye.
Switch on ignition to release stee ring column
lock and to permit operation of brake lamps,
horn and windscreen wipers.
Se t t he ge ar shif t leve r to ne utra l or, wit h
automatic transmission 3, set the selector
lever to N.
Drive off slowly and avoid jerky movements.
Impermissible tractive forces could damage
the vehicle s.
Switch on automa tic a ir circulation and close
the windows to prevent exhaust emissions
from the towing ve hicle entering your vehicle .
Vehicles with automatic tran smission 3
should be towed facing forwards only and
must not be towed faster than 50 mph
(80 km/h) or further than 60 miles (100 km).
If th e transmission is defective, or if t he above
spee d or distance is to be ex ceeded, the drive
shaft mu st be disconnect ed f rom t he r ear axle
or the rear a xle raised off the ground. In the
latter c ase, secure the stee ring wheel t o
maintain a straight-ahead position.
Take your vehicle to the nearest Vauxhall
Dealership, who will serve you best to get
your vehicle bac k on t he road.
More pressure is necessary to depress the
brak e pedal since the brake servo unit is
only operative when the en gine is running.
Considerably more force is required for
steering: Power-assisted steering is only
available when the en gine is running.
