Vehic le decommissioning
Observe national regulations.
If the vehicle is to be taken off the road for a
period of several months, have the following
work carrie d out by a Vauxhall Dealership to
en sur e t ha t n o da ma ge oc cu rs:
z Wash and preserve the ve hicle – see
pa ge 210.
z Check pre servation in engine compa rtment
and on underbody a nd rectify wh ere
necessary.
z Clea n and pre serve rubbe r sea ls on bonnet
and doors.
z Change engine oil see page 201.
z Check anti-freeze and corrosion
protection – see page 203.
z Check coolant level see page 203.
z Empty windscreen wash system and
headlamp wash system.
z Increa se tyre pressure to value specified for
ma xi mu m l oa d s ee pa ge 22 5.
Veh ic le s t or age
z Park vehicle in dry and w ell-ve ntila ted
premises. With manual transmission,
engage first gear or reverse gear and with
automatic transmission, 3 place se le ctor
lever in position P. Plac e wh eel c hocks or
suitable obje ct under whee ls to pre vent
vehicle from rolling away.
z Do not a pply h and brake.
z Disconnect battery by disengaging
negative terminal f rom vehicle elec trical
system – see page 207.
Vehicle rec ommi ssioning
Observe national regulations.
Carry out the following work before putting a
vehicle bac k on the road.
z Conn ec t batte ry see pa ge 20 7.
z Check tyre pressure – see page 225.
z Fill up windscreen wash system – see page
20 6.
z Check engine oil leve l see page 200.
z Check coolant le vel see page 203.
z Attach n umber pla te.
